Café Cacao & Scharffen Berger Chocolate

Hersey’s announced last week that they are closing down the Sharffen Berger Chocolate factory in Berkeley. I’ve been meaning to go on the factory tour but never got around to it. . . You snoose, you loose!

We decided to go to Café Cacao at the Sharffen Berger factory on Saturday for lunch. I had the Niman Ranch Jambon Royale & Gruyere Panini and Mocha (the one with the heart) and LH had the Cafe Cacao Eggs Benedict and Chocolate Chai (the one with the happy face). We also had a slice of chocolate cake after lunch. Everything was good, but I liked the panini better than the eggs benedict. The chocolate cake was yummy! It was moist, chocolatey and not too sweet. All items with chocolate are made with Sharffen Berger chocolate! Total bill was $36.49 + tip.

I hope they don’t close the cafe. . . This is a great place for lunch/brunch.
